VIRGEN DEL ROCÍO currently has more than 400 cooperative members
Virgen del Rocío was set up in 1961 as a cooperative society in the Montealgaida, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Cádiz, province in the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula. It is fortunate enough to have an incredible climate, excellent farmland, abundant water and a great professional team, giving it a great reputation as an important supplier in the region of a wide variety of high quality vegetables.
Virgen del Rocío is currently made up of more than 400 cooperative producers of a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, with an annual production of more than 60,000 tonnes from its nearly 800 Ha of crops in outdoor fields and under plastic.
Virgen del Rocío aims to provide its national and international customers with fruit and vegetables grown by its producers.
Virgen del Rocío"s mission is to ensure that the annual production of its members are sold at a fair price, as well as to support rural development and job creation in the area. Aware of the importance of agriculture, both in the supply of high-quality food and protection of natural resources, it is committed to combining sustainable agriculture with respect for the environment to guarantee the future of generations to come.
