


Firms such as BONNYSA, PALOMA, FLORETTE, FRUTARIA, ROYAL, GRUPO IBERICA, ANECOOP, FONTESTAD, PERLIM, BANACOL, VIP VAL VENOSTA, among other sector leaders have confirmed their participation at the trade fair, which is taking place from 20 to 22 October at the Feria de Madrid.

The second edition of FRUIT ATTRACTION, the Trade Show for the Fruit and Vegetable Industry, will be attended by the international leaders in the fruit and vegetable sector. Leading names such as BONNYSA, PALOMA, FLORETTE, FRUTARIA, ROYAL, GRUPO IBERICA, ANECOOP, FONTESTAD, PERLIM, BANACOL, VIP VAL VENOSTA and suppliers such as DOW AGROSCIENCES, BAYER, DUPONT, SYNGENTA, MONSANTO and CAJAMAR have all confirmed their participation in the trade show.
More than 400 businesses from the fruit and vegetable sector operating in the international market will be exhibiting at FRUIT ATTRACTION 2010 and the event is already meeting all its participation and space objectives for this forthcoming edition. Among the firms that have confirmed their presence at the second edition of FRUIT ATTRACTION are sector leaders from Spain’s principal production areas including Andalucía, Murcia, Extremadura, Canarias, Cataluña, La Rioja, Aragón, Madrid, Castilla La Mancha y Galicia. Moreover, the second edition of the trade show will be welcoming autonomous communities not involved in the first year such as Castilla y León, Navarra, País Vasco and an important number of firms from Comunidad Valenciana, which a significant boost to the trade show and its recognition within the sector. In addition, FRUIT ATTRACTION will be attended by international firms originating from Argentina, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal and United Kingdom.
The trade event organised by IFEMA and FEPEX, the Spanish Federation of Associations of Producers and Exports of Fruit, Vegetables, Flowers and Live Plants being held from the 20 to 22 October will become a privileged business and information platform showcasing the most innovative products and systems.

Spain is the world’s leading fruit and vegetable exporter followed by the USA and the Netherlands and one of the main producing countries. Spanish exports of fresh fruit and vegetables were worth more than €2,600 million in the first quarter of 2010. Spanish household consumption of fruit during the first quarter of 2010 grew by 12% compared to the same period last year, to top 1.1 million tonnes. The vegetable sector also reported an increase of 5.5% to achieve a total consumption of 684.047 tonnes. According to FEPEX, those figures show a recovery in the consumption of fruit and vegetables and this is also reflected in its value. Consumption of fruit grew by 11%, totalling 1,512 million tonnes and vegetables rose by 12%, with a total worth of €1,204 million.
Parallel activities and technical workshops
FRUIT ATTRACTION will be once again offering an interesting conference and event programme to complement the commercial activity, aimed at providing a deeper insight into the fruit and vegetable sector.
Another of the noteworthy events taking place during the course of the trade show is FRUIT FUSION, organised by madridfusión, which was a resounding success last year. The event, taking place within the framework of the trade fair, has the prime objective of stimulating and promoting in a fun and interactive way, the benefits of eating fresh fruit and vegetables.
