TECHNOLOGY ATTRACTION: Science, Business and Technological Revolution is a technical seminar that will highlight the importance of technology to the competitiveness of the agricultural sector
The 9th edition of FRUIT ATTRACTION will include a seminar entitled TECHNOLOGY ATTRACTION: Science, Business and Technological Revolution. This initiative, organised by Biovegen, that will underline the importance of technology to improving the competitiveness of Spanish agriculture.
The purpose of this Seminar is to bring together outstanding representatives from the Spanish Science, Business and Administration sectors, to transmit the technology revolution, taking place in Plant Biology, highlighting the pivotal importance of these advances for competitive improvement of the plant production sectors, the national and international context all trends are pointing in this direction. The intention is to stimulate innovation in the sector by generating contacts and products between the technology Offer and Demand, between Science and Business, to boost public-private collaboration in R&D, capital for technological and economic development of the agri-food industry.
The technical seminar, TECHNOLOGY ATTRACTION: Science, Business and Technological Revolution, will be delivered by well-known, prestigious speakers, such as José Pellicer, president of BIOVEGEN; Gonzaga Ruiz de Gauna, BIOVEGEN coordinator; Daniel Ramón, general manager of BIÓPOLIS; José Pio Beltrán. IBMCP-CSIC. Research Professor Former president of EPSO, and María Ángeles Ferre, from the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitivenesss.

Organised by IFEMA and FEPEX, the ninth version of the trade fair will take place from 18 to 20 October in Halls 5, 6, 7,8, 9 and 10 at Ifema. Once again, this year, the sector is committed to this top-level business event, which in eight years has succeeded in positioning itself at the forefront of the international fruit and vegetable trade, with more than 1,500 participating companies and 60,000 trade visitors from 110 countries.
BIOVEGEN-Spanish Technology Platform for Plant Biotechnology is a public-private partnership, led by the business sector, which brings together entities from the agrifood sector with an interest in R&D&i in applied Plant Biology. To achieve this, it organises entities for the Spanish food production sector, bringing together the technology offer and demand and generating business opportunities through Scientific-Business collaboration. BIOVEGAN carries out collaborations and R&D projects, and identifies technology challenges facing the sector to develop technologies. It acts as an interface between the scientific and business communities and the Administration. To do this, it offers a series of tools for facilitating its members’ R&D+i activities. There are currently 77 members: 64 companies, 13 research bodies and the Secretary of State of R&D+i, which supports and confinances the initiative.
